Over the years I enjoyed very much watching movies about space and space travel. “Back to the Future” was one of my favorite films about the time travel. I always wondered how it would feel to be able to travel in time; and about the Time Machine? It had to be invented by now!
And then I realized, we may not have time machines, but we do have Time Capsules. “What???”, you ask. Yes, yes! Think about it.
The places were the past is meeting the future!
I have a favorite one in Paris. I go there every time when I need a little inspiration.
I love to wonder around and admire the great artists of the past!

Tomorrow is a Valentine's Day. I was just wondering if people still celebrate it or did it become a bad cliché? Over the last few years I've heard a lot of people say that Valentine's Day is just a marketing idea to push us into buying more goods. If that’s the way we all feel, then of course, there is no point to celebrate this day. But, what about love? Isn't it nice to have a little reminder, so we would take a minute out of our busy life to celebrate love?..

► Newton vs chew-monkey

These images are from my new "Helmut Newton" book that I received as a gift last Christmas. The book is big and heavy and absolutely amazing! I still haven't found the place in the house where to put it. It deserves to be properly displayed. My monkey dog* that goes after anything that he can chew is making it difficult for me to find the right spot.
The coffee table is out of the question: it’s the perfect chew area!

*His name is actually Max, but we call him “Monkey”. He is super clumsy and adorable.

There I was thinking of my next post...
It's been a few days including a weekend. Time passed by so quickly and I still had nothing! “Why?”, you ask. Well, the answer is simple: its soooooo cold in Paris!!! I don't think I ever seen it this freezing, ever! And I live here for more then ten years now. I feel I need to put on as many layers as possible just to go out to walk my dog. And poor thing is shivering every single time. Maybe I should get him a dog coat or something... Anyway back to the post.

The only thing that came to my mind was one of my childhood stories. When I was a little girl I used to love playing dress up. I would go through my mum’s closet and put on her most incredible outfits. Then I would pretend that I'm a singer: I would walk around the room with Jump rope (the end of it looked like a mike to me) and sing.

Nowadays my mum lives far away from me so the only closet that I got to go through was my own. I found the incredible red tartan dress that I made last year (and completely forgot about its existence until now) that I can't wait to share with you in my next post! Xx

You didn't think I would forget to tell you about my new shoes that I bought in Amsterdam?

One morning in the train on my way to work I was leafing through a fashion magazine. Suddenly a pair of a very colorful summer sandals got my attention. I looked at the brand name. It was "United Nude".
"Do you know this brand?" I asked a friend of mine. "Oh yes, it is quite known Dutch brand", she said, "The designer used to be an architect". "This is perfect”, I thought, "Just like Pierre Hardy in Paris. I love this kind of stuff!"

A few days later I was walking to the "United Nude" shop. It was windy, very windy! At some point I felt like my hat is going to take off. "I need to suffer for my shoes!" I thought with giggle. (Just like in "Seinfeld": "he suffers for his soup"). Anyway, here it was: the shop.
It looked dark inside. "Of course, it is Sunday and the shop is closed! “, I thought.
I walked to the door and it opened into a magic place of shoe mystery...

Now I just need to find my sandals and be on my way.
A very lovely sales girl tells me that summer collection hasn't arrived yet and I will need to wait until April or so... But I don't want to wait I want a pair of shoes now! ;-)
So I try a pair, then another one. Not really my style, I just want to see how they look on my feet. One is too small, another is too big. It must be destiny; I must wait for the summer sandals.
So I thank the girl for her time and patience and I'm on my way out.
Then suddenly I see something I really like! "Do you have these ones in size 40?" I ask. She says they have been sold out but she is going to check anyway, just in case.
I wonder around the shop. It is so graphical. Light changes from red to blue and ultraviolet. Some shoes begin to glow. I told you it was magical!
At this right moment the girl is back: "You are lucky I found the last ones!"

1: Hotel in Berlin. I went to Berlin just for one day to work on "Scotch & Soda" at the "Bread & Butter" trade show.

I liked flowing white dresses and a black & white dress with a statement red detail on it.

Bride, Yasmin Le Bon (wife of Simon Le Bon, lead singer of Duran Duran) wore a beautiful red dress.
Apparently it was very heavy. I am not surprised at all. It looked magnificent!

What I love about these pants is that they have just the right amount of sparkles and their design turns a casual outfit into something a bit dressy. Even if you wear it with sneakers, like I did!

I was hired to do an assistant job for a visual merchandising
at the Amsterdam-based fashion brand “Scotch & Soda”. Our mission was to set up showrooms ( men’s and women's ) for buyers. The girl that hired me is very talented and it is always fun to work with her as we often create new and challenging ideas to display and present merchandise of the brand.

Here are a few highlights of my 10 day stay in Amsterdam.

9 / 10

1: My hotel room at “The Albus”. Hotel was fully booked, so we had to keep moving from one room to another … Hilarious…

2: My morning Latte… I was very lucky to have one of the guys at the showroom making a special coffee Latte for me!

3: At the showroom. Racks and racks of clothes from the new collection that needed to be sorted out and properly displayed.

4, 5: I like creating visual sets (in this case shirts and a hat) to highlight the clothes underneath.

6, 7: Sunday was my day off, I had time to walk around the city and visit the flower market. I always come home with new flowers…

8: Self-portrait.

9: Bikes, bikes… everywhere in the city! I love the colors on this one, very fashionable at the moment.

10: Just like in Paris it is time for sales in Amsterdam. I was aiming for a new pair of shoes. I will tell you all about it in my next post!

Here is my favorite vintage camera Lubitel by LOMO. I bought it for almost nothing on Ebay. I wasn’t sure if would work as it is pretty old. But it looked perfect for its vintage condition.

The beauty of it is that it turns any ordinary moment into an amazing image.

Paris Sales are a fun time to do the shopping.
Here are a few cute things that I found:
Super fun scarf with a tiger face on, from Tiger Sushi and a couple of T-shirts from the same brand that feels like silk when you put it on, amazing!
I fell in love with the beige Nike’s (needless to say they were Not on Sale, it’s from a new collection) I got them anyway!

Winter weekends are a perfect time to laze in bed and watch movies. I ordered a take away food, got my favorite oversized sweater and had two evenings in a row just watching films. I really liked “Moneyball” with Brad Pitt and “Man on a wire”, a beautiful and inspiring documentary. And “Pirates of the Caribbean” got me thinking of the sea inspiration in fashion this upcoming season… No wonder there is so many Mermaid themes around!

A few days ago, while shooting photos for the blog, I realized that I got a little bit out of shape: my belly got fat, my arms too soft and the legs are way too skinny! I think it is probably started a few months before Christmas and has nothing to do with the fact that during the lovely family time I had a lot to eat and drink… Anyway, today I bought my exercise bike and a sweat suit (sauna effect) and I am beginning my athletic journey!
